Overview:
At Barinkoff Academy, there's only one rule: no students on campus after curfew. Phoenix McKay soon finds out why when she is left behind at sunset. A group calling themselves night students threaten to taste her flesh until she is saved by a mysterious, alluring boy. With his pale skin, dark eyes, and mesmerizing voice, Demitri is both irresistible and impenetrable. He warns her to stay away from his dangerous world of flesh eaters. Unfortunately, the gorgeous and playful Luka has other plans.

When Phoenix is caught between her physical and her emotional attraction, she becomes the keeper of a deadly secret that will rock the foundations of an ancient civilization living beneath Barinkoff Academy. Phoenix doesn’t realize until it is too late that the closer she gets to both Demitri and Luka the more she is plunging them all into a centuries old feud.

Our Take:

Okay, so is this cover creepy or what? I mean, we can write a review just on the cover, and it would get a 5 star. Fortunately, we've learned not to judge a book by it's cover, but as we're anxiously anticipating this novel's release, we can tell it's going to be good. We really like the background with the clouds, because it adds a mysterious touch. Doesn't she look worn out? Hence, the flesh eaters, mentioned in the Overview. And what's she leaning on? A tombstone? This might just prevent us from having our happy-giddy-girly sleepover weekend-getaway. But if we're anything ... it's brave! So, we will be waiting for the novel's release, and reading it ... together, with all the lights on, of course. We're brave, but not that brave. The girl on the cover, looks as if she is hiding a dark secret. Does her hair signify anything, with that pretty auburn color? Tempting, isn't she? We guess Demitri, and Luka won't be learning to share, anytime soon.

  1. The description sounds interesting and yes the cover is lovely. I'm a sucker for books with a darker edge. And her dress is so pretty too! When you do read this, you'll have to let us know if it's good or not! :)

  2. Doesn't it? We are the same way. We agree, her dress, ad its waves, do kind of give a darker edge to her appearance, as well. It comes out next moth, but we might just pre-order it, and do a tour.
